CH23 Dining Chair
The CH23 dining chair was first introduced in 1950 and features organic contours and a clean expression, demonstrating the young Hans J. Wegner’s unique design approach and insightful craftsmanship. The CH23 dining chair was one of the first chairs Hans J. Wegner designed for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950. The first masterpieces he created were not only unique, but also set new standards for modern furniture design with their lightness, artistic expression and ergonomic forms. Although the CH23 chair may appear uncomplicated at first glance, it incorporates many fine, sophisticated details, among them the elegant cruciform cover caps in the backrest, a unique hand-woven seat and backward arching rear legs that ensure optimal stability. Carl Hansen & Søn relaunched the CH23 in 2017, true to Wegner’s original working drawing, making the early masterpiece part of the collection once again.
